Women of the Bible Who Changed the World
The word fierce is trendy. It is used to describe women who are extreme athletes, high-level executives, or supermodels. Women at the top of their game. But what about the rest of us? Can we be fierce? Absolutely! In fact, women like us have been changing the world for thousands of years—many who received little fanfare yet lived fiercely anyway. In this six-week study we will look at lesser-known female characters in the Bible and the ways they changed the world by living into God’s calling.
Is There Life After Stress?
All of us go through stress in life. In this study, participants will learn about some of the most common kinds of stress people routinely deal with, and practical tips will be given to live successfully in the midst of the stress.
Introduction to the Old Testament
Back before Stonehenge or the wheel, back before the pyramids, math, or even the crudest writing existed, ancient peoples gathered and told stories. They told stories of how the world began, what the first people were like, and which of them were heroes or failures. They tried to make sense of the world around them and tried to sort out who the gods were and what those gods wanted from them. More than ten thousand years later, one set of those stories has come down to us in the form of the Old Testament. It is the story of the Jewish people and their distinctive God, giving us a glimpse through story, song, history, and law of the rocky, raucous, faithful, fumbling beginnings of one of the oldest religions on earth. In this study, participants will look at some of the themes and characteristics of the Jewish scriptures. This study is perfect for novice and advanced students of the Bible alike.
